Headcover Questions:
Q: When will I receive my headcovers?
A: The orders take 4-6 weeks, all the covers are hand made.
The reason for the 6-8 week wait is that the covers are made in three parts,
the cover itself is made by a knitter, all of our employees are
independent contractors who work at home, and we have another person
hand make the pom pom also at home and then the cover is put
together in our office in Chicago and shipped out.
Q: How many colors are in the headcovers?
A: Our standard cover is 2 colors. For example, a black cover with white stripes has a
white pom with black accents. Stripes or poms can be made with more than two colors at no
additional charge.
Q: What is the most popular combination?
A: Black with white stripes, a white pom pom with flex of black.
Q: How many inches should you add for graphite
shafts?
A: Two to four inches. Standard length for the neck is nine and a half inches.
Q: How can the covers be cleaned?
A: The covers are 100% wool, so they should be dry cleaned. You can hand wash the sock
only (not the pom, due to the way it is constructed). To brighten up
the pom, take some sharp scissors and trim the ends of the pom.
Q: Can I write something on the cover?
A: We can put up to four initials on the head of the cover, where the stripes would
normally be. The stripes would then either be moved to the neck or left off completely.
(Nothing can be written on the neck due to the ribbed knit)
Q: Who is Jan Craig?
A: Jan Craig started the company over 35 years ago in Morrow, Ohio. She began by knitting
head covers for friends and family. The first touring professional to use the covers was
Jack Nicklaus. Jan passed away in 1974, but the company has always remained in the family
and is currently owned by her son and daughter in law, Barry and Lynn Craig.
Q: Are the head covers really hand knit?
A: YES! We have over 25 knitters working for us throughout the United States.
Q. Can I write something on the cover?
A. We can put up to four initials on the cover, where the stripes would
normally be. The stripes will be left off completely. (Nothing
can be written on the neck due to the ribbed knit.)
Q: How do I keep the covers from falling off my
clubs?
A: As of 1997 we have been putting elastic in the head covers to help
them fit and stay on the club better. If you already own our covers, we can add elastic to
them
Q: My Driver is a 460cc.
What size should I order?
A: You can order the size lower, ie. the 440cc, the cover will
stretch.
